By Influish Editorial Team · Published · Last updated
Short answer
Influish, a creator-platform company that news reports place in Udaipur, Rajasthan, posted an Instagram video on 4 November 2026 offering a paid “doomscroller” role. By the next day the story had been covered by at least nine outlets in four languages, and the company reportedly said more than 11,000 people had requested its application form. The basic offer is consistent across reports; the terms of the job are not yet public.

Who is Influish?
According to its own website, influish.com, Influish offers tools for Instagram creators: an automatic DM tool (which sends a message when someone comments a chosen keyword), brand collaborations and growth tools. The site names Sankalp Nag as Founder and CEO. It has a “Careers” link in its footer, but when we checked on 6 November 2026 its homepage listed no open roles and did not mention the doomscroller job. Every news report describes the company as based in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The website’s visible text gives no company address, but its Organization structured data (machine-readable markup in the page code) lists Udaipur, Rajasthan, as checked on 6 November 2026.
The video itself came from the Instagram account @gangsofstartup, whose display name is “The Viral Startup Office”. Its bio reads “Startup name - INFLUISH”, which is what links the account to the company. Dainik Bhaskar’s English site also describes it as Influish’s account. (Dainik Bhaskar Digital (English))
What did the Instagram video announce?
The reports describe a short video featuring Influish staff, posted on 4 November 2026 and framed as a Diwali-time opening. In it, a man says the company will pay someone who loves Instagram to scroll Reels all day and report what is going viral. Asianet Newsable, on 5 November 2026, quoted the pitch as: “If you really enjoy using Instagram, we will pay you for it.” (Asianet Newsable) India Today, Asianet Newsable, NKTV, Dainik Bhaskar and Times Kerala describe the speaker without naming him. (India Today) (NKTV)
Two Hindi outlets, Salam Hindustan and The Printlines, name the speaker as Sankalp Nag. Salam Hindustan also gives his age as 26. (Salam Hindustan) (The Printlines (Bharat Express News Network)) Influish’s website confirms that Sankalp Nag is the company’s founder and CEO, but none of the other reports confirms that he is the person in the video, and the age appears in only one report. We therefore treat the speaker’s identity as reported by two outlets, not established.
The call to action was simple: comment “Hi” on the video. Udaipur-based candidates would then receive the application link by Instagram DM, and a Google hiring form was also linked from the account’s bio. That process, and what the form asks for, is covered step by step in how the application process works.
How fast did the story spread?
Very fast. The earliest report we could verify was published on the afternoon of 5 November 2026, and by late evening the story had appeared in English, Hindi, Marathi and Malayalam. The table lists the reports we read, in order of publication time (Indian Standard Time).
| Time | Outlet | Language |
|---|---|---|
| 14:47 | Asianet News Hindi | Hindi |
| 15:14 | Times Kerala | Malayalam |
| 15:26 | NKTV | English |
| 16:12 | India Today | English |
| 16:21 | Salam Hindustan | Hindi |
| 17:05 | The Printlines (Bharat Express News Network) | Hindi |
| 17:47 | Dainik Bhaskar Digital (English) | English |
| 19:02 | Asianet Newsable | English |
| 21:11 | Asianet News Marathi | Marathi |
At the time those articles were written, most said the video had more than 300,000 (3 lakh) views; India Today said it had crossed 340,000. That is not a contradiction — the count was rising between articles. Seven reports also carry a figure from the company: more than 11,000 people had requested the application form. That number has not been independently checked by anyone, and two headlines describe those 11,000 as people who “applied”, which is not what the article bodies say. Requesting a form is not the same as submitting an application.
If you want the full, minute-by-minute record — including outlets that were indexed by news aggregators but could not be verified — the dated coverage timeline (our sister guide, Doomscroller News Tracker) keeps it.
Why did the doomscroller post go viral?
How did people react? Asianet Newsable reported on 5 November 2026 that the announcement “sparked jokes in the comments section”, with one person calling it the “perfect job”; NKTV reported similar “dream job” comments. (Asianet Newsable) (NKTV)
No outlet analysed why the post spread. The following is our own reading of the factors visible in the coverage:
- A relatable joke. Many people scroll Reels for hours every day. A job that seems to pay for exactly that is instantly shareable, and the headlines leaned into it (“get paid to watch Reels”).
- Festive timing. Five reports frame it as a Diwali-time opening, a period when light, upbeat stories travel well.
- A one-word action. Asking people to comment “Hi” makes participation effortless, and each comment pushes the video to more viewers.
- Multi-language pickup. Hindi, Marathi and Malayalam outlets covered it within hours of the English ones, widening the audience well beyond English-language feeds.
One piece of context is not mentioned in any report: Influish’s own product is an Instagram tool that automatically sends a DM when someone comments a keyword. The “comment Hi, get a link by DM” mechanic matches what that kind of tool does. We mention it because it explains how the replies could be sent at scale, not as a claim about how the company actually handled them.
Where do the reports disagree?
The core story is consistent. These are the points where outlets differ, and how we handle each one:
| Detail | What differs | How we treat it |
|---|---|---|
| Who speaks in the video | Two Hindi outlets name Sankalp Nag; the rest describe an unnamed man or representative | Reports differ |
| Full-time or internship | India Today and Asianet Marathi say full-time; six outlets say the form offers either | Reports differ |
| Office-based | Salam Hindustan and The Printlines quote “sit in the office all day”; India Today’s version has no office | Not established |
| Who gets the link | Asianet Newsable presents the DM link as Udaipur-only; NKTV says others can use the bio form | Reports differ |
| Comment word | Asianet Newsable uses both “Hi” and “Hello”; everyone else says “Hi” | “Hi” (8 reports) |
| “11,000 applied” | Two headlines say applied; article bodies say requested the form | Requested the form |
Is the Influish doomscroller job real?
Here is what can be checked, as of 6 November 2026. Influish is a real company with a public website that names its founder. The Instagram account that posted the video names Influish in its bio and links a form labelled “Hiring Form”. Nine outlets independently reported the same offer. Those facts make it very unlikely that the post is a hoax by an unrelated party.
What cannot be checked is the substance of the job: pay, hours, location, number of openings and whether anyone has been hired. The address doomscroller.influish.com, which might be expected to host an official page, did not resolve when we checked. Until Influish publishes terms, the most accurate description is: a genuine company announced a genuine opening, but the job’s terms are unpublished.
- Company exists and has a public website — Checked
- Instagram account names Influish and links a hiring form — Checked
- Offer reported consistently by independent outlets — 9 reports
