Doomscroller Job Eligibility and Requirements: What Is Reported and What Is Not
By Influish Editorial Team · Published · Last updated
Short answer
Influish has not published any eligibility rules for the doomscroller job. No report we verified states an age limit, education requirement, experience level, language requirement or minimum screen time. The only location detail reported is that Udaipur-based candidates would receive the application link by DM; whether others can be hired is not stated (as of 6 November 2026).

What eligibility criteria or qualifications have been published?
None, formally: as of 6 November 2026, no report we verified and no Influish channel we checked lists a required qualification, degree, age or experience level for the doomscroller job. The table goes through each criterion people typically search for, and records exactly what the reports say — including where that is nothing at all. It is easy to fill these gaps with assumptions; we have deliberately not done so.
Last checked:
| Criterion | What reports say | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Udaipur-based candidates get the link by DM; one outlet says others may use the bio form | Reports differ |
| Minimum age | Nothing | Not disclosed |
| Education or degree | Nothing | Not disclosed |
| Prior experience | Nothing | Not disclosed |
| Languages | Nothing | Not disclosed |
| Daily screen time | Nothing for Influish (a six-hour rule belongs to a different, 2025 posting) | Not disclosed |
| Employment type | The form reportedly offers full-time or internship | Reports differ |
| Work mode | Not stated; two Hindi reports quote “in the office” | Not disclosed |
| Working hours | Nothing | Not disclosed |
| Documents needed | A resume upload, according to most reports describing the form | Reported |
The practical reading: if you can fill in the form described in how the application process works, nothing published rules you out. But equally, nothing published rules you in. The company may have criteria it has not announced.
Do you have to live in Udaipur to apply?
This is the single most important open question, and the reports do not settle it. Every outlet agrees that the company is described as based in Udaipur and that Udaipur-based candidates would be sent the link by DM. They differ on everyone else:
- Asianet Newsable presents the DM link as limited to Udaipur applicants. (Asianet Newsable)
- NKTV says that people outside Udaipur can use the Google form in the @gangsofstartup bio. (NKTV)
- Times Kerala and others describe the bio form as an alternative route, without saying who it is for. (Times Kerala)
Being able to submit the form is not the same as being eligible to be hired. If the role turns out to be office-based, living in or moving to Udaipur may matter. Nobody has said so either way.
Is it a full-time job or an internship?
Reports split. India Today and Asianet News Marathi call it a full-time job. (India Today) (Asianet News Marathi) Six outlets that describe the hiring form say it asks applicants to choose between full-time and internship. That choice may mean the company is open to both, or that the form is a general one used for several roles — four reports say it also asks for the position applied for. The final employment type has not been confirmed.
For students, this matters: an internship option, if it applies to this role, could make the job accessible to people still studying. But that is an inference from a form field, not a published rule.
Is the doomscroller job office-based or work from home?
No report says explicitly. Salam Hindustan and The Printlines, both in Hindi, quote the speaker in the video as saying the person would sit in the office all day watching Reels. (Salam Hindustan) (The Printlines (Bharat Express News Network)) India Today’s version of the same line says “sit all day” with no mention of an office. Two quotes in translation are not enough to call it on-site, and nothing at all suggests remote work. We list work mode as not disclosed.
Is there a minimum screen-time requirement?
Not for this job, as far as any report says. The six-hour figure that circulates in search results comes from a different company’s posting. In August 2025, Storyboard18 reported that Monk Entertainment (Monk-E) in Mumbai wanted applicants with more than six hours of daily Instagram and YouTube screen time, proven by screenshots.
| Requirement | Influish, Udaipur (Nov 2026) | Monk Entertainment, Mumbai (Aug 2025) |
|---|---|---|
| Screen time | Not stated | More than 6 hours a day, with screenshots |
| Languages | Not stated | English and Hindi fluency |
| Knowledge | Not stated | Creator culture and emerging creators |
| Application | Comment, DM link or bio form (reported) | |
| Job type | Full-time or internship (form option) | Full-time |
Do not assume one employer’s rules apply to the other.
What skills would plausibly help?
Since no requirements are published, this is general guidance about trend-spotting work, not Influish’s criteria. If you want to show in a resume that you could do this kind of job well, these are the abilities that usually matter:
- Spotting patterns early — noticing when the same audio, format or joke starts appearing on unrelated accounts.
- Writing short, clear notes: what the trend is, where you saw it, and why it might matter.
- Knowing Indian internet culture across languages; regional trends often spread before they reach English feeds.
- Telling a genuine trend from a one-off viral post.
- Basic organisation — keeping a simple log or spreadsheet of what you observe, with links and dates.
- Self-discipline: deliberate, focused scrolling for work is different from scrolling to unwind.
A resume that briefly describes how you follow trends — a page you run, a newsletter, or simply a habit of noting what is rising — is more concrete than saying you spend a lot of time on Instagram.
What about salary?
The pay has not been disclosed. Eight of nine reports say the role is paid; none gives an amount, and Influish has not published one. The form reportedly asks for your current and expected salary, which means you will be asked to name a number before the company does. If you are unsure how to answer, a reasonable approach is to base it on what comparable entry-level social media or content roles pay in your city, and to state that you are open to discussion. For how trend-research work is usually structured and paid, see our salary disclosure guide (our sister guide, Doomscroller Salary Guide).
