About the job
What is the doomscroller job?
It is a paid role announced by Influish, a company described in news reports as based in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in an Instagram video posted on 4 November 2026. According to the reports, the person hired would watch Instagram Reels, spot emerging trends and report what is going viral.
Which company is hiring a doomscroller?
Influish, a company that makes tools for Instagram creators. The video was posted by the Instagram account @gangsofstartup, whose bio names the startup as Influish. A separate company, Monk Entertainment (Monk-E) in Mumbai, ran a different doomscroller posting in August 2025; the two are unrelated.
Is the Influish job the same as the Monk Entertainment doomscroller job?
No. Monk Entertainment (Monk-E), a Mumbai media and talent management company, sought doomscrollers in a LinkedIn post by co-founder and CEO Viraj Sheth, reported by Storyboard18 on 25 August 2025, with a six-hour daily screen-time rule and email applications. The Influish role was announced on Instagram on 4 November 2026 by a different company in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Who is the founder of Influish?
Influish's website, influish.com, names Sankalp Nag as Founder and CEO (checked 6 November 2026). Two Hindi outlets, Salam Hindustan and The Printlines, say he is the man in the doomscroller video; other reports do not name the speaker.
Is the doomscroller job real?
The employer is real: Influish has a public website, the @gangsofstartup Instagram account names Influish and links a hiring form, and nine outlets reported the same offer on 5 November 2026. What remains unpublished, as of 6 November 2026, are the job's terms: pay, hours, location, openings and deadline.
Is the doomscroller job full-time or an internship?
The employment type of the Influish doomscroller job is not confirmed. India Today and Asianet News Marathi call it full-time, while six reports say the hiring form offers a choice between full-time and internship.
Is the doomscroller job work from home?
No report says the Influish doomscroller job is work from home; work mode has not been disclosed as of 6 November 2026. Two Hindi reports quote the speaker in the video as saying the person would sit in the office all day, but India Today's version of the line does not mention an office.
How many hours a day would a doomscroller work?
No working hours have been published in any report we verified, as of 6 November 2026. The six-hour screen-time requirement seen in some articles belongs to the 2025 Monk Entertainment (Monk-E) posting, not to Influish.
Pay
What is the doomscroller job salary?
The salary has not been disclosed. Eight of the nine reports we verified say the role is paid, but none gives an amount, and Influish has not published one (as of 6 November 2026).
Why does the form ask for my expected salary?
According to reports, the hiring form asks for current and expected salary. Because no pay range is published, you will be asked to name a figure first. Basing it on comparable entry-level social media roles in your city and saying you are open to discussion is a reasonable approach.
Applying
How do I apply for the doomscroller job?
As reported on 5 November 2026: comment "Hi" on Influish's 4 November video on the @gangsofstartup Instagram account. Udaipur-based candidates would receive the application link by DM. A Google hiring form is also linked in the account's bio. Details may have changed since.
Do I comment "Hi" or "Hello"?
"Hi", according to eight of the nine reports we verified on the Influish doomscroller video. Asianet Newsable uses both "Hi" and "Hello" in the same article.
Can I apply if I don't live in Udaipur?
It is unclear whether people outside Udaipur can apply. Asianet Newsable presents the DM link as only for Udaipur applicants; NKTV says others can use the form in the account bio. No report states whether non-Udaipur candidates can be hired.
What does the hiring form ask for?
According to reports, the form asks for your name, phone number, address, a full-time or internship preference, current and expected salary, and in most accounts the position applied for and a resume upload.
What is the last date to apply?
No deadline has been published in any report we verified. As of 6 November 2026, it is not known whether applications are still open.
How many people have applied?
The company reportedly said more than 11,000 people requested the application form, as of the reports on 5 November 2026. That is a company figure, not an independent count, and requesting the form is not the same as applying.
What happens after I submit the form?
According to five reports, Influish will contact shortlisted candidates. No interview process, selection timeline or start date has been described.
Trust and safety
Why doesn't this guide link directly to the hiring form?
Reposted form links make fakes easier to spread and go stale when forms close. The bio of the original @gangsofstartup account is the place the company controls, so that is where to check.
Is doomscroller.influish.com the official application page?
No. When we checked on 6 November 2026, doomscroller.influish.com did not resolve at all (no DNS record). Treat any site claiming to be it with suspicion.
Do I have to pay any fee to apply?
No report mentions any fee. Never pay a registration, training or deposit fee, and never share an OTP, UPI PIN or bank password, for any job application.
Who publishes this guide?
This guide is published by Influish, the company in the story. It summarises independent news reports and public pages, labels what is unconfirmed, and is not a news outlet.
